II. Introduction

Chen, is the hero that different from another. He wouldn’t be killing by his skill, but with creep. Yeah, creep. With holy persuasion, you can take creep in forest then go for kill if there are 2 or 3 creep in your hand now. But, some people hard to control and microing the creep in battle. As you know, every creep has their main purpose such as Troll for catch enemy, Centaur to stun, Purbolg for Earthshock, Satyr SoulStealer mana burn, Trickster for purge etc.

All of them combined to help Chen to get a kill. Well, maybe there is another guide say about battle Cehn, but it’s ridiculous you know. How can a fully support chen become a battle chen, look at his skill, Penitence, slow and take more damage for enemy. Test of faith random damage from 200-400, cast on ally will sent him to base. Holy Persuasion, take creep (not ancient), and Hand Of God, heal all allies for 400 health in lvl 16. So, why did you need to build battle since support is fun, isn’t it?

	Penitence (E) Forces a unit to accept punishment for their sins, causing them to move slower and accept more damage from attacks or spells. Lasts 7 seconds. Level 1 – 8% movement speed reduction, and 7% increased damage taken. Level 2 – 16% movement speed reduction, and 14% increased damage taken. Level 3 – 24% movement speed reduction, and 21% increased damage taken. Level 4 – 32% movement speed reduction, and 28% increased damage taken. Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown: 15
	Test of Faith (F) If cast on enemy, will deal variable damage based on the units faith. If cast on allied Hero, it will teleport him to the fountain. Allies can ignore the effect of Test of Faith by typing -disablehelp in advance, and type -enablehelp if they need it. Instantly teleports Chen’s persuaded units to the fountain. (Note: Faith seems to mean completely random) Level 1 – 50-100 Damage to foes, 6 second casting time for allies. Level 2 – 100-200 Damage to foes, 5 second casting time for allies. Level 3 – 150-300 Damage to foes, 4 second casting time for allies. Level 4 – 200-400 Damage to foes, 3 second casting time for allies. Mana Cost: 175 Cooldown: 30
	Holy Persuasion (R) Takes control of a target unit. Cannot persuade allied units, Ancients, enemy hero images, and Necronomicon summons. If the persuaded unit has timed life, it will die after the timer is over. If you persuade additional units after you’ve persuaded the maximum number of units, one of the units, not necessarily the last one, will die. Level 1 – 1 Unit Max. 75 HP Bonus. Level 2 – 1 Unit Max. 150 HP Bonus. Level 3 – 2 Unit Max. 225 HP Bonus. Level 4 – 3 Unit Max. 300 HP Bonus. Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown: 30
	Hand of God (D) Fully Regenerates your own units, which may include your chicken, converted creeps, Necronomicon summons and images etc. Heals all allied heores on the map. Level 1 – 200 HP Healed. Level 2 – 300 HP Healed. Level 3 – 400 HP Healed. Mana Cost: 200 / 300 / 400 Cooldown: 120

Normal Build

1,3,5,7 : Penitence

2,4, 8,9 : Test Of Faith

6, 11, 16 : Hand Of God

10, 12 – 21 : Stats

21 – 25 : Holy Persuasion

Extreme Build

V. How To Play? I Can’t Microing Well..

If you can’t microing well, use normal build, where you just stand in your lane, carry your teammate, and spamming penitence and some normal hits, allowing your teammates to farm better and maybe get some kills. But it’s too boring if you just pick chen, and not maximize his potential. Here is the example :

And then this is extreme build. Go for jungling in start, searching for creep. I suggest you to get a creep that are the highest level.

As i say above, if you use chen to play normal build, then nothing you get. But, for extreme build, if you can get 5 centaur, then using them to stun for about 10 seconds, sure you can own the enemy.

VI. Item Build

Start with Ring Of Regeneration and two Ironwood Branch. Then Go For Jungling. This map show where creep spawn.

This is creep specification :

• Alpha Wolf (Spawn in 10, 9 ,2, 3)

Ability

Command Aura : Gives 30% extra damage to nearby friendly unit attacks (passive)

Critical Strike : Gives 20% chance to do 2 times normal damage (passive)

• Centaur Kahn (Spawn in 10,9 , 8, 6, 5, 4, 2, 1)
  

Ability

War Stomp : Stun nearby units for 2 seconds and deals 25 damage.

Endurance Aura : Increase Attack Speed by 15% (passive)

• Dark Troll Warlord (Spawn in 1, 5, 6, 8)
  

Ability

Raise Dead : Raises 2 skeletons from a corpse

Ensnare : Bound enemy unit to the ground, so that it can’t move. Last 1.5 seconds.

• Satyr Hellcaller (Chaos Attack) (Spawn in 1, 5, 6, 8)
  

Ability

Shockwave : a waves of force that causes ripple outward, causes 100 damage in a line.

Unholy Aura : Increases Hp regen by 3hp/sec. (passive)

• Satyr Trickster (Spawn in 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10)
  

Ability

Purge : Removes All buffs from a target unit, slows movement speed by a factor 5 over 5 seconds.

• Satyr Soulstealer (Spawn in 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 8, 10)

Mana Burn : Burn 100 mana to a unit.

Frost Armor : Increase your armor by 8 and slows melee units that attack it for 4 seconds last 5 second.

• Blue Dragonspawn Overseer (Chaos Attack, Ancient can’t be captured) (Spawn in 11, 12)
  

Ability

Devotion Aura : Increase nearby friendly unit armor by 3 (passive)

Evasion : 25% chance to evade when attacked (passive)

• Berserker Wildkin and Wildkin (Spawn in same place like Centaur Kahn and Dark Troll Warlord)

Ability

Cyclone : Slow down enemy movement speed

When level 1, capture the highest creep, like centaur kahn or dark troll warlord, or hellcaller, or berserker wildkin. Those unit makes your problem solved faster because their attack is rather higher than others. Just go captured creep again if your creep already died. Until lvl 6 or 7, go back to base. Now Get Helm Of Dominator and Boots if you have enough money. Helm of Dominator makes you capture 1 more creep, so your total creep at lvl 3 holy persuasion is 4. Note that in 300 seconds again, you can cast it again to capture creep then if there is no problem, with your creep, you get 5, and so on. Can you imagine how much creep that you can hold at one moment? I believe that when your enemy see your creep, than he will have much fear about how strong are you with your creep.

So, in early game your core item is,

Now move to mid game, where you need to look to all of your teammate, sometimes they need heal but they can’t say it, so it’s your job to do it. Help your teammate when they are being chased, when they need heal, and you come to heal them. So we need healer right? go for mekans in this way. In some way, you need to add aura again so your creep grow stronger. If no one build Vladimir’s Offering, well you can make that. So, proper item to get in this stage is

Final item should be refresher orb when you need to heal in battle twice, then go for caputre creep again (HoD is reseted too, so is with Mekansm). Then, to boost up your mana ool and make chen as fully support herp, getting guinsoo or eul isn’t restricted. Necronomicon also a good choice if you can handle them with your creep. But it’s imposibble to get all those items, when i get guinsoo, the game almost reach the end.

VII. Strategy In Clash

When coming into the battle, don’t be the first one to open the clash. Let your creep aggroing the enemy, and when you’re sure you can stun with your centaur, do it. Once successfull stun done, then continue with other centaur to stun, do that until all centaurs have using “War Stomp” skill.

TIPS : It’s better when you have more than 1 captured creep, block it all then press CTRL + 1. Everytime you press 1, then a group of creep with chen is blocked, then to access centaur, just use TAB until a group of centaur is shown

REMEMBER, Finish the Game AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Searching creep need time where in late game, farming isn’t the main purpose, but search and destroy is the key. So, if you can save your creep, save it, you need a time to search it again if they die.

VIII. Enemy And Teammate

Enemy :

This 4 was the worst enemy for chen. Also hand of midas was include as the worst enemy, your creep can be easily countered by Dryad capture skill, enchant. Doom can devour it, Lich and Raigor will be happy of you have creep just two or one, hence, Chain frost will deal maximum damage. Midas can transmute your creep to money. That’s too bad if enemy know how to counter you. Raigor will be happy if you bring much creep, the more echo slam damage increasing.

Penitence amplify your both magical or physical damage. So dagon will be around 512 if you strike dagon lvl 1 to enemy that has hit by lvl 4 penitence.

IX. Conclusion

Even tough this guide is just a little covering of how strong chen was, but i’m still continue to update this guide because i think there are more things that i should add. I will add replay soon, so prepare your game kids. I’ll upload replay soon and insert more screenie to make you all know how to own with Chen.
